Because there's almost nothing to disclose. HushBackup is built so that we couldn't collect your data even if we wanted to.
HushBackup encrypts your files on your Mac with keys only you hold, then writes them to storage you choose — a drive on your desk or your own cloud account. Your files never pass through us: we run no servers, and the app never sends them anywhere except the destinations you configure. Your cloud provider stores encrypted blocks it cannot read.
No account, no sign-in, no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting. The app talks to exactly two kinds of endpoints: the storage destinations you configure, and a version check for updates — a plain file download with no account or identifier attached, which you can turn off in Settings.
No cookies, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party scripts or fonts — every asset on this site is served from hushbackup.com. Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes requests in order to deliver the pages; we add nothing on top.
Questions and bug reports live on GitHub (those are public, like any issue tracker). If you reach us privately instead, we read it, we reply, and we don't add you to any list.
If this policy ever changes in a way that matters, the change will be visible in the site's open-source repository — history included.
